John Aguilar to Chair Newly Formed Hispanic Government Relations Committee

Local business owner John Aguilar was appointed chairman of the newly formed Hispanic Government Relations Committee for the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce office it was announced by Mark Martinez, CEO of the organization.  Aguilar is the President of Vernon Transportation a Stockton based trucking company. 
 

“John brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to the position of Chairman for our first HGRC,” stated Martinez.  “We wanted a business owner that has been involved with government issues both locally, statewide and nationally.  John must deal with issues everyday as it relates to his trucking company.”  The purpose of the Hispanic Government Relations Committee is to address issues that affect Hispanic businesses, to give the membership of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce a voice in local politics, and inform the Hispanic community about initiatives and measures that will be up for election.  

“I am honored to serve as the Chair for HGRC,” said Aguilar.  “The HGRC can be a direct influence on how people are informed and thus make the Hispanic business community more informed on issues that affect them.”  The HGRC consists of: Aguilar; Luis Sanchez, Washington Mutual; Emily Barnett, PG&E; Jesus Vargas, VSCE, Inc.; Paul Guerrero, Attorney; Angel Picon, SEIU-Local 790; Samuel Ybarra, Ybarras Jewelers; Mayra Cuevas, Tax Express.
