John Aguilar Named Hispanic Business Man of the Year

The California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named John Aguilar, President of Vernon Transportation Company, its Hispanic Business Man of the Year.  The award was presented to Mr. Aguilar during the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Convention held in Anaheim on August 28.  

“I am very honored to have been selected the Hispanic Business Man of the Year by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce,” stated Aguilar.  “This award reiterates the great job Vernon Transportation Company does for its clients, and is a direct reflection of our hard-working employees.”  The CHCC recognizes corporations, chambers, and individuals for their outstanding contributions benefiting California's Hispanic business community.  The criteria for the Business Man of the Year selection include: Hispanic ownership, company growth, membership with the local and state Hispanic chambers of commerce and business networking with the local communities. 

Vernon Transportation Company, established by John Aguilar with one truck and one driver has come a long way since 1985, facing the many challenges a new business endures. The company has since grown to include Vernon Transportation Company, Stockton Sanitary Wash Rack, and John Aguilar Logistics Company.  “The growth that our company has had over the last 20 years has proven that Hispanic owned businesses can meet the needs and demands of corporate America,” said Aguilar.  “I am proud of my company’s success and encourage other minority owned businesses to set a high standard of service, just as we at Vernon Transportation Company have done.”
